This is Why...

So, my friend Keelie had this posted on her blog entry Why Am I Doing This? and she referenced someone else who she got the idea from.  I decided to participate and send in a picture for possibly being included in one of his posts regarding Why I Do This Here, so I sent him the picture below.

This is Why...

This got me to thinking.  There are so many reasons why I am doing this.
  • To be healthy.
  • To feel better.
  • To fit in cute clothes that I can afford (cute clothes for overweight people cost an arm and a leg, but I can truly find cute clothes at Walmart or Kohls for a reasonable price...if only I were smaller).
  • To be able to visit my best friend in Colorado and not be so out of breath because of the altitude.
  • For ME.
  • For my FAMILY.
  • To be able to shave my legs IN THE TUB...not while taking a shower.
  • To fit into my bathing suit again (yeah, I hope to swim somewhere this summer - not sure if that will happen or not because I am just enough overweight that I cannot fit in my bathing suit right now).
  • To feel sexy for my husband.  I know he loves me just how I am, and I've honestly accepted how I am right now, but I've been overweight the whole time we've been married and I truly don't know how to feel sexy.
But I think one of the biggest reasons right now is for the child I hope to have one day.  I hope that day to be within a year or two, but whenever that day is, I know that if I am not healthy that it will put both me and my child at risk.  I may not lose all the pounds I want to lose - but my daily lifestyle needs to be good for my body.  When/If God blesses Chris and me with a baby - I want to be as best of an incubator as I can so that the baby has the best chance possible to be as healthy as possible.  I'm not saying that I'll do everything right all of the time.  But I need to be aware of the choices I make so that I can do my best to choose the right choices, especially when I SHOULD choose the right choice.

So this is why.....Because (among many things), I want to be healthy when I get pregnant with our first child - For both me AND the baby.
