03/22/10 - 227.1 lbs (-5.9 total)

So, I weighed today and was happily surprised that I lost 1.3 lbs for a running total of -5.9 lbs. That's over 1 lb per week and, though I wish it were a little more, I will choose to be satisfied. A slow loss is better than no loss at all, and I'm definitely feeling it in my clothes. My NSV's still include my random clothes finds from my own closet where the clothes fit better. For instance, today, since it was chilly, I tried on a sweater that I knew had been icky feeling on me because it was just tight enough to make me uncomfortable. Now it's just loose enough for me to be comfortable in it all day, and that's what I chose to wear to work today.

I will say that I'm surprised that I lost a little because last week did not go very well. I finished my first 30 day challenge last Monday. Then, I rested on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday. I was going to start my new challenge on Thursday. However, I found out that one of my sisters had gotten into a very bad car accident...so, I didn't really focus on any kind of exercise or even eating properly from Thursday until now. Please keep my sister in your prayers - her name is Erika. She is at JPS Hospital in Fort Worth in critical condition. Right now it's just wait and see - she's made it through some of the initial worries - so now we just pray she really starts getting better.

And today - I sucked it up and started my next 30 day challenge, on low, with the Wii Balance Board. I am happy with how the first session went. I looked online, and the balance board doesn't enhance too many of the exercises. However, it seems that the program remembers what "level" I was on with the first 30 day challenge. For example, my bicep curls today were for a total of 16 reps (8 each arm) instead of the initial 6 reps when you start for the very first time (for 3 each arm). So, I will press on and focus on really holding my muscles as best I can during each workout so that I get the best results.

That's it for now...

Good job. I think consistent losses, no matter what they are, are great! 5 lb will be 10 before you know it . Keep it up Kristin. Praying for you and your fam.
